Sindyanna
Sindyanna is a women’s collective based in the Galilee, uniting Jewish and Palestinian citizens of Israel in producing environmentally sustainable products- particularly olive oil, olive soap, za’atar and postcards by Palestinian artists. Sindyanna’s purpose is to empower women, develop Arab agriculture, and gain a fair return to Palestinian farmers within Israel and the West Bank.
Zaytoun
Zaytoun works with Palestinian farming communities to develop and sell their produce under the fair trade and organic labels. The olive tree is a symbol of the ancient connection of Palestinian people to their land and Palestinian families continue to rely upon the olive harvest as a major source of income. Zaytoun is at the forefront of developing fair trade food initiatives and its range of products includes olive oil, recipe cards, couscous, almonds and dates. The Olive Co-operative works in partnership with both Zaytoun and the Palestinian Fair Trade Association on the Trees for Life initiative, which offers the opportunity to sponsor the planting of new olive trees in Palestine. Each new tree planted represents a long-term source of income for Palestinian families, who have been harvesting olive oil, fruit and wood for generations. These farmers follow fair trade guidelines, hence benefiting from future purchases of Palestinian olive oil.
Project Hope
Project Hope is a volunteer-run organisation providing participatory and educational spaces for young Palestinians, aiming to support children denied access to basic services by providing them with recreational and educational activities, medical and humanitarian relief and practical training to empower them with hope and skills for the future.
