Contains 72% olive oil which is sourced from Palestinian olive farmers in the Nablus region.

It is naturally cleansing & suitable for all skin types including oily skin, leaving the kin soft and supple. It is long-lasting, and the gift box includes 100g each of the plain, lemon, pomegranate and sage varieties. The ancient city of Nablus has been producing soap since the 10th Century. Olive oil is the principal ingredient of this palm-free natural soap. The soap is made and cut by hand in beautiful old soap houses by skilled craftsmen. It is fairly traded and pesticide-free.

Some of the proceeds go to Project Hope youth programs in Nablus, which is a volunteer organisation bringing healing and a participatory and educational space, through the provision of art, drama and language programs. It does not charge fees, and relies on contributions from International donors.

The dates are fairly traded, and pesticide-free.

The Israeli occupation was leading to a decline in tourism and increasing economic hardship in the area, and had begun to threaten the handicraft industry in Bethlehem. By buying these fairly traded ceramics, you are helping to preserve the centuries-old craft and design traditions of Palestine, and provide a means of countering the deterioration of the local handicrafts industry. This helps to alleviate local poverty, decrease unemployment, increase incomes, decrease emigration, and sustain the Palestinian handicraft industry.

A fine example of the crafts and traditions of Palestine, these olive wood products help balance out the seasonal olive trade and so alleviate local poverty, decrease unemployment, increase incomes, decrease emigration, and sustain the Palestinian handicraft industry. They are all fairly traded, and some of the wood comes from the farmers supported by the  “Tress for Life” scheme, run by the Palestine Fair Trade Association.

Handcrafted by economically disadvantaged artisan women

Cross stitch embroidery is a traditional craft of Palestinian women, many of whom are highly skilled in the art, and rely on this much needed supplement to their household incomes. In Palestine today, small collectives of women pool their resources to both buy their materials and sell their products.

Olive Co-operative purchases its embroidery from small women’s co-ops in the West Bank as well as bigger organisations such as the Ibdaa Cultural Centre and the Holy Land Handicraft Co-operative Society.
