Olive Travel and Tours

Olive Co-operative offers you the unique opportunity to design your own trip to Palestine and Israel.  The huge number of inspiring, grassroots Palestinian and Israel organisations working for a just peace, along with the rich cultural and religious heritage of the region, has enabled us to offer a diverse selection of meetings and visits, around which we can design the itinerary of your choice.  More information available here.

Each tour provides the opportunity to:

  • see at first hand the current situation in Israel/Palestine;
  • meet with Palestinians and Israelis working for peace and justice;
  • learn from experienced guides;
  • see the Wall, Israeli settlements and checkpoints, which carve up the West Bank;
  • visit key political and religious sites;
  • stay with Palestinian families;
  • return informed and motivated to work effectively for a just and lasting peace.

Arabic language courses

Olive Cooperative offers Arabic courses that are tailored to the standard of Arabic of the particpants.  Courses are available for individuals or groups, with a choice to focus on spoken or writen Arabic.  The Palestinian dialect is considered ‘central’, and will enable you to understand and be understood across the Arab world.  For more information see our Arabic language courses section.

Information on travelling in Palestine and Israel

See our guidance notes to travel in the region for logistics and cultural information.

The Alternative Tourism Group, our partners in Beit Sahour, Bethlehem, have provided some information about the History & Culture of Palestine and the Code Of Conduct for Responsible Tourism in the Holy Land.

Guidebooks

Olive Co-op recommend you read ‘Palestine & Palestinians‘ an up to date, comprehensive guidebook published by our partners, the Alternative Tourism Group. Other guidebooks can be useful in giving an idea of the geography and customs of Israel although information on the West Bank can be patchy and out of date.

Olive Cooperative Stalls

Come and meet Olive Cooperative members, talk about Palestinian Fair Trade, and buy delicious Palestinian oil, food and gifts for you and your loved ones. We'd love to get out and do more stalls, but we just don't have enough people to run them. If you would be able to spare a few hours to run a stall, or know of an event near you that you could take an Olive Cooperative stall to, please get in touch with us at infoATolivecoop.com or 01706 815490 - we'd love to hear from you!
